Want to work from home and earn £££s? And, no, you don’t need to take in other people’s ironing, sell double-glazing in July or turn your kitchen into a laboratory for the manufacture of illicit substances.

All you need do is to surf the web, and how easy is that? The answer is that it is very easy, but the word to the wise is that you will not get rich quick. But you will get paid to stare at your computer.

All you need do is go to www.YouGov.com and register your details. You will then be paid to offer your opinion in a number of online surveys. You even get £1 for signing up, although you won’t receive any money until you’ve earned £50.

And before you ask, YouGov has nothing to do with the Government – it says so on the frequently asked questions section. Which sadly means that Tony and Co. are not giving you money to sit at home on your PC.

The good news, though, is that you can do the same thing with NOP (www.surveys.com). Here you get paid in ipoints, the Internet-based rewards programme in which points are offset against the cost off goods and services.

The savvy can earn around 5 points, which roughly equates to 35 pence, for each completed survey. And since each survey takes about 5 minutes, that’s not too shabby.

And if ipoints are your thing – you earn points when you register with them - you can get more by signing on at themobilechannel.com, which pays you ipoints to receive text messages.

You can also earn more points by opening a bank account at Halifax. The bank has a deal with ipoints and pays around 200 points, or £14, for you to open an account that cost you nothing to set up but time.

And since you are not exactly flush with cash, time is something you have plenty of. Only now you know how to use it wisely.
