With the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury’s attempting to put their sizeable interests into practically every sector going, news that the big four supermarket chains, which also includes M&S and Morrisons, are now planning to steal customers away from banks with their own current accounts will hardly come as much of a surprise.

‘Free-Banking’ On Its Last Legs

The British Bankers’ Association ,who really do sound like a lovely bunch of people, have admitted that people may eventually have to pay for their banking, with the figure of £500 being touted a possible annual fee.

Banks Lose Interest For Once

interest_rates.jpgYou can relax. The powers-that-be have decided to hold off on raising interest rates again. So, breathe a huge sigh of relief and then get back to dealing with that already insurmountable mountain of debt you have.

The decision by the Bank of England big-wigs to leave well enough alone was made against a background of uncertainty in financial markets caused by the crisis over US sub-prime mortgages and the recent drops in global stock markets.

However, according to the Telegraph, millions of homeowners who were charged those “unfair” mortgage exit fees could be in line for refunds totalling a massive £2billion.

£2million Bank Clerk Muddle

What is it with bank staff these days? Are they so racked with guilt over illegal charges and corporate profits that they are secretly giving money away to the public?

We’ve already read about numerous ATM machine’s across the country handing out free money and now we have, what the Sun kindly calls, “a dozy bank clerk” giving a customer £2million that wasn’t hers. It’s madness!
